1. Acceptance

By using CatchDiff ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service does

CatchDiff compares two PDF documents and highlights the differences between them. The Service processes your files in memory and returns the result. No document content is stored.

3. Free tier limits

The free web tier allows 5 PDF comparisons per calendar month per IP address. This limit resets automatically on the first day of each month.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to process documents you do not have the right to access
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits through automated requests or IP rotation
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
  • Reverse engineer, copy, or resell the Service

5. Refund Policy

One-time Desktop License

We offer a no-questions-asked refund within 30 days of purchase. We will ask for a brief, optional reason — your honest feedback helps us improve the product, but you are under no obligation to provide one.

Once a refund is approved, the credit will be returned to your original payment method. Processing time depends on your card issuer or payment provider — typically 5–7 business days.

Honesty requirement

By requesting a refund you agree to permanently delete all copies of the CatchDiff desktop installer and uninstall the application from all your devices. The offline desktop version is a one-time purchase with lifetime access — redistributing or continuing to use it after a refund is a violation of these terms.

Subscriptions (when available)

You may cancel your subscription at any time — no questions asked. Access continues until the end of the current billing cycle and you will not be charged again. If you need a refund for the current month's charge, contact us at support@catchdiff.com and we will process it promptly.

How to request a refund

Use our self-serve refund page at catchdiff.com/refund. Enter your Order ID (found in your Stripe receipt email) and submit — the refund is processed instantly.

If you have trouble, email support@catchdiff.com with your Order ID and we will process it within 1 business day.

7. Your content

You retain full ownership of the documents you upload. By uploading a document you grant CatchDiff a temporary, limited license to process it for the sole purpose of generating the comparison result. This license ends immediately when processing is complete and the files are deleted.

8. Disclaimer — Limitations of Comparison

Important: CatchDiff compares extracted text only.

  • Changes embedded in images, charts, diagrams, or graphics within a PDF will not be detected.
  • Content in scanned PDFs (image-based PDFs) cannot be compared without OCR, which CatchDiff does not perform.
  • Formatting changes (fonts, colors, layout) are not captured — only text content is compared.
  • Complex PDF structures (tables, multi-column layouts) may produce imperfect results.
  • CatchDiff results are for reference and assistance only. They do not constitute a legal, professional, or certified review of any document.

You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy and completeness of any comparison result before relying on it for legal, financial, medical, contractual, or other important decisions. Always have a qualified professional review critical documents.

9. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any diff result. CatchDiff is not liable for any decisions made based on comparison results. Always verify important changes manually.

10. Limitation of liability

CatchDiff is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to losses arising from reliance on comparison results. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

11. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
